Encaustics

This series of work on paper is about finding the edge between beauty and destruction, past and present, solitude and connection. I use a blowtorch and literally draw with the flame on paper, creating layers that represent the personal stories of our lives. I subject my medium to its limit, capturing the aforementioned edge.
